I am devastated and in tears having just read the letter from my dentist office where Althea had been my hygenist for many years as well as for my son, Cody, that she had passed away! I am in shock! I had a hygenist appointment with her later this week! Althea and I became fast friends, sharing a love of gardening. I am truly heartbroken over her loss! My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to her husband Frank and granddaughter Georgia, whom she spoke of often with love. Althea's loss will be felt for a long time to come. She was a genuine, caring, human being that I was lucky enough to know and call my friend. I love you, Althea!

Frank and Georgia - I am so sorry to hear of Althea's passing...devastated would be a better word. I had NO idea. I have just seen the announcement in the Record. My heart is broken. I love her dearly; she was my daughter's first hygenist (and still was). Our teeth have only been in her loving hands for 37 years. She will be so dearly missed. Keeping you both in my prayers.

Althea was a rare gift of concern, kindness, friendly. She knew my parents for decades, being their hygienist. She attended my fathers wake when he died in 1998. The last attempt at a dental cleaning with my mother was a failure due to Mom’s Alzheimer’s disease. Althea cried to see how devastated the disease had left my mother. She remembered my children’s names, always asking for the latest updates every time I went to see her. Always a hug in greeting and departing. She talked often of her family. Sincere condolences at her loss to her husband, granddaughter and family. I will sorely miss her loving spirit.

I was a patient of Althea's for nearly 30 years. She always took the time to ask how I was doing, offer kind words or share a laugh, whatever the occasion called for. Her empathy was real and she cared very deeply about the people around her. I'm so sorry to hear she's gone, and my heart goes out to her family and friends...Althea was truly a remarkable person.
