I contacted Forastiere Smith when my 93 year old father passed away in November. He was residing in a St. Louis nursing home and I needed to have him cremated there and eventually his ashes would come back to East Longmeadow. Forastiere was very helpful with the situation and the arrangements. I feel that my questions were well addressed and the procedure went smoothly. My sister and I recently held a Celebration of Life service for our beloved mother of 97 years. Losing her was heartbreaking but the staff at the East Longmeadow Forastiere location made this process smooth and they were exceptionally helpful. We chose cremation and Loren and Emily went over all the details step by step and gave us a packet of information for florists, monument places and restaurants for a reception. We ordered our flowers and everything was color coordinated. I did 4 poster boards with pictures of mom from birth to the present. Everyone loved them. Forastiere had them set up on easels for everyone to see. They tried to get the priest we asked for but he was going to be out of town. The day of the service, he showed up and said a prayer with us. They contacted the priest from St. Michael’s and his eulogy was perfect. Although he never met our mother, he talked as if he did. We were all so touched. When we were running late from the cemetery, Emily contacted the restaurant to let them know. Every detail was taken care of. The thank you notes depicted mom’s loves in life, sewing, music, singing and collecting buttons. Our mom would be so proud of her celebration. She was a truly remarkable woman and Forastiere made sure that everything was perfect. They have called and checked up on me to make sure I was doing ok. That in itself means the world to me. I would highly recommend them.

The staff at Forestiere was very professional and compassionate in the planning stages, during the memorial service and beyond. The faculty was elegant and provided a comforting atmosphere during a difficult time. They accommodated our needs and tailored the celebration of life to honor our loved one. Although this is a long time coming thank you, I would like to express my deep felt appreciation to Justin and Emily who very professionally and compassionately took care of my families needs at a very emotional time. Thankfully my parents had a pre-plan with Forastiere and they immediately took charge when my parents passed within 4 short months of each other. The staff at Colonial Forastiere in Agawam were extremely caring and helped my family and me take care of the arrangements for my grandfather's funeral. He passed on Christmas eve, and although it was the busy holiday season, they helped us in every step of the process. He had a pre-planned arrangement he purchased back in the 1990s, which helped a lot, since loosing him was really difficult. His service was beautiful. They also provide follow up by checking in in the following months to see how we're doing and provide grief support. I can't say how great they were to work with, they've gone beyond what I expected.

Forastiere funeral did a great job with our sons arrangement. Lauren made us feel like family. She listened to us, I couldn't believe at the service when no one could say anything due to everyone being choked up, she stepped right in and kept the service going. They went above and beyond to make our family heard, comfortable and really provide a service that was fitting to my brother’s memory. My husband had cancer for over eight years, so we had plenty of time to talk and plan. Over our 40 years together, we always celebrated and marked occasions very simply. We chose to celebrate with friends and family over good food and with lots of conversation, laughs and sharing. Making good memories. When Jerry died I wanted to honor how we had always done things. We had discussed having a simple process when either of us died, showing the love and respect we held for each other during our lives. Forastiere provided this for me. They treated me with respect, demonstrating a caring support for all my decisions. I felt that not only was I cared for, but that my husband was being cared for with the dignity and respect I wanted. They allowed us to be able to do a simple cremation, get his ashes and then on our own hold a wonderful memorial, celebrating his life as we always had with family and friends. I had my initial meeting with Loren when my husband went into hospice. She provided me with the ability to know what I had hoped for was possible and gave me the information I needed to plan exactly how we wanted things to proceed. When Jerry died and my daughters and I met with Brian we already had all that decided and it was just finishing the final details. Loren and Brian offered us caring, professional support which allowed my daughters and I to go through this very painful experience feeling like someone was looking out for us and ensuring things went smoothly according to the plans we had set out. I would highly recommend this funeral home to anyone. We could not have asked for any more.
