Joanne C. Nadeau

SPRINGFIELD – Joanne C. Nadeau, 80, passed away on June 27, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Milford, CT on November 13, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Harriet (Wohler) Adams. For many years, she had worked for Mass Mutual in the Environmental Services Department, retiring in 1999. She enjoyed going to the casinos as well as playing bingo and the lottery. Joanne was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Predeceased by her husband of 53 years Douglas Nadeau, Sr., she leaves to cherish her memory, her sons Douglas C. Nadeau, Jr. and his wife Marlene of Springfield, Michael F. Nadeau and his wife Denise of Ludlow and Scott A. Nadeau and his wife Stella of CT; daughters Cheryl A. Nadeau and her fiancé Steven Douglas of Chicopee and Anne M. Nadeau of Ludlow; many grandchildren, many great grandchildren as well as her beloved cat, Midnight. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 12-2 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA followed by a service at 2 PM. Burial will be on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 10 AM at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.
