Walter E. Blanchard

WESTFIELD – Walter E. Blanchard Jr. passed away at home peacefully on July 24, 2019 with his beloved wife Caroline (Skipper) and daughters by his side. He leaves behind his wife of 63 years Caroline, daughters Sharon Schenna and husband David, Beth Stadnicki and husband John. He is pre-deceased by eldest daughter-Linda Blanchard; Grand-daughter Diana Lynn Gedmin; sisters Shirley Healey, Lynn Blanchard and Dorothy(Sis) Fish. He is also survived by his grandsons Nicholas Gedmin and his wife Michelle, Alexander Blanchard and his wife Gianna; great grandchildren, Steven, Julia, Rocco and Dean; siblings Charles Blanchard and wife Clarisse, Donald Blanchard and Kathy Blanchard; and several nieces and nephews. Walt was well respected and looked up to for much advice and his common sense ways, he was handy and could fix anything. An avid reader and crossword puzzle master, he enjoyed his daily walks, tending to his lawn and garden, he liked to make pickles, a great batch of soup and build bird houses for family members, he was always was willing to help out family or neighbor.
