Virginia F Mavis

AGAWAM – Virginia F. Mavis, 94, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2020 at Heritage Hall East in Agawam. Born on August 12, 1925 in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Saverio and Lucia (Liberatore) Fasciglione. Before becoming a homemaker, Virginia had worked at the Telephone Company in Hartford, where she met her husband during the War. She traveled a lot being a Marine Corp wife finally settling in Westfield where she worked at Digital. She loved knitting, gardening, and playing bingo as well. She also attended Bible study with her very dear friend Marie. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Eugene A. "Gunny" Mavis, who passed away in 2006, her son Stephen A. Mavis, who passed away in 1999, her siblings Anthony Fasciglione, Louise Smith and Mary Janicke and her granddaughter Jessica Mavis, who passed away in 2019. To cherish her memory, she leaves her daughter Denise Brodowski and her husband Raymond, Jr. of Agawam; her grandchildren Adrienne LaChappelle, Khristina Brodowski, Christian Mavis, Jennifer Wetherell, and Sarah Mavis; her many great grandchildren whom she loved dearly as well as her very dear friend Marie Brodowski. Services will be private for the family and have been entrusted to Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation.
