Obituary

East Longmeadow - Virginia V. (Verteramo) Davis, 91, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2019 at JGS Lifecare. Virginia was born on October 3, 1928 in East Longmeadow to the late James and Carmella (Schirripa) Verteramo. Virgie graduated from Commerce High School. She was a hard worker and was employed with the Willow Glen House for over 25 years, and Accurate Aluminum for 15 years, prior to that she worked for Mass Mutual and Fiore Market. She was a past president and member of ITAM Vets Post 64 Woman’s Auxiliary, a Morning Glory Walker, Secretary for Longmeadow AARP, a volunteer for the American Red Cross, and a devout member of St. Michael’s Parish in East Longmeadow. Virgie kept busy and had many pastimes that she enjoyed, such as playing cards, cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, and bowling. The most important thing Virgie treasured was her family. Whether it was spending time at the beach or at the lake in New Hampshire, or cooking for them and spending time together, family was everything to her.
She was married for 65 years to her beloved husband A. Ronald Davis, who preceded her in death. She is survived by son Scott Davis and his wife Michelle of East Longmeadow, son-in-law Joe Milbier of North Eastham MA, cherished grandchildren: Christopher Davis and his wife Melanie, Colleen Milbier, Brian Milbier and his wife Cait, Kevin Milbier and his fiancé Shannon Clark; her adored great-grandchildren: Danielle, Paige, Colin, Avery, Braelyn, Easton, Zoey, and Bailey. Besides her husband and parents, Virgie was predeceased by her daughter Lori Ann Davis Milbier, her siblings and their spouses: Peter and Eileen Verteramo, Teresa and Robert Murphy, Angie and George Waterman Sr., Katy and Raymond Driscoll, her sister and brother in-law Joanne and Cedric Hastings. The family would like to personally thank the aides, nurses and doctors at the Jewish Nursing Home and Glenmeadow, and Dr. Boss for the care and compassion they provided Virginia.
Services to appreciate Virgie’s life will begin on Saturday, December 14, 2019 with visiting hours from 8:00am-10:45am at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation on 220 N.
