Teresa Ruiz

Agawam – Teresa (Maldonado) Ruiz, 86, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away peacefully on August 1, 2017. She was born in Bogota, Columbia to the late Carlos and Lola (Belmonte) Maldonado on April 28, 1931. Teresa was educated and graduated from college in Columbia. She was a manager of a Trading Company for many years. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister, Margarita Maldonado. She leaves her loving husband of 53 years, Jose “Hugo” Ruiz; her son, Hugo “Alex” Ruiz and his wife Joanna of Brooklyn, NY; her granddaughters, Gabriella and Maya Ruiz; and a brother, Jose Maldonado and his wife Rosalba of Gaithersburg, MD. Teresa’s Memorial Service will be held on August 10th at 4PM in Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. A visiting hour will precede the service from 3-4PM. Because of Teresa’s love for animals, the family has requested donations in her memory to Concerned Citizens for Animals, P.O. Box 80073, Springfield, MA.
