Susan Berselli, 74, of Springfield, MA passed into peace on Saturday February 17th at Baystate Hospice Care, after a long and valiant battle. She is predeceased by her father, John Howard DeVall, and her brother John Christopher DeVall. She leaves behind her Mother, Frances DeVall of East Longmeadow, her sister Cynthia Shanafelt of Chester, VT, two children, Cheri Ricciardi (husband Ralph Ricciardi) of East Longmeadow, and Jason Berselli of East Longmeadow and numerous grandchildren and step grandchildren including, Casey Nicoll, Maddie McCaffrey, Delaney Heath , Julianna Berselli, Amanda Ricciardi, Arianna Ricciardi and Vito Ricciardi. But most importantly she leaves her life partner in adventure, love and life of the past 24 years, Mark Koschwitz. He tirelessly cared for her 24/7 over the past 5-6 years of her life, refusing for her to be in a facility and instead tending to her growing needs in the safety and comfort of their home. Our family is so blessed to have him as part of it.
Susan was always known for her wild spirit and strong determination, in part leading to her successful real estate career with Park Square Realty, She became a realtor in 1989 and during the course of her life bought, improved upon and the sold 12 homes of her own. She always felt that as a buyer and seller so many times herself, that she understood perfectly the needs and emotions of her clients. In her spare time she loved amateur photography, was a classic car enthusiast and loved traveling to the coast of Maine with Mark in their camper. When she was able she was an avid gardener and loved to grow her own vegetables to eat. She faced many trials and tribulations in her life, but was never happier than when her grandchildren were born. Her time spent with them when they were young helped shape them into the people they are today.
