1925 – 2021

Shirley D. Progulske, 96, passed away on July 7, 2021 at Heritage Hall North in Agawam. Born in Schenectady, NY on January 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Ethel (Sweeney) LaMountain. In 1942, she graduated from the High School of Commerce.
Shirley married the late Theordore “Ted” A. Progulske, Jr., in 1947 and shared over 71 years of marriage.
Prior to her retirement in 1986, she had worked for 20 years as the office manager at Merriam-Graves Corp. Shirley was also a member of the Junior Women’s Club in Agawam, the Grid Iron Moms and was a very supportive sports Mom, who attended all her sons’ games.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her sons Theodore R. Progulske and his wife, Laura of West Springfield and Donald A. Progulske and his wife, Linda of Feeding Hills; her grandchildren Ryan and Justine, Kai and Alex, Kacy and wife Brittany, and Sharlotte; her 7 great-grandchildren; her brother Albert LaMountain and his wife Eileen as well as numerous other loving relatives.
A private service will be held for Shirley at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.
