Agawam- Shirley Marie (Hout) Pleva, 92, died at home surrounded by her loving family August 9, 2019. She was born in Springfield on August 3, 1927 to the late Harry and Gladys (Julian) Hout. After graduating High School, Shirley soon moved to Agawam where she raised 5 children. She later worked at Zayers and Ames department stores. She loved history and was an avid reader. She and her family would travel to historic sites together. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and picnics together by the lake. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, open heart and home. She will be deeply missed by her children Sandra Blackburn and her husband Steven, Mark Pleva, and Robin Pleva and her partner Janet, and Dana Pleva; her brother Donald Hout; her sister Beverly Juliak and her husband Peter; grandchildren Martin Golembiewski, Courtney Gagne and her partner Jeffrey and her newest great grandchild Cecily, and Raymond, Lavena, John and Michelle; her dear family friend Kathy Stanalonis and her husband Joseph, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband Raymond Sr., her son Raymond Jr., her sister Jacqueline, and her sister-in-law Phyllis Hout. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday August 12, 2019 from 3-6pm in the Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. Her funeral will begin August 13, 2019 at 8:45am from the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. John the Evangelist Church, Agawam. Burial will follow at Agawam Center Cemetery, Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
