Shirley A. Mascaro

East Longmeadow – Shirley Ann (DeFalco) Mascaro, 82, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 11, 2019. Born in Springfield, MA, she was a daughter to the late Francis and Beatrice DeFalco. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and was a member of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church. She was employed with Mass Mutual where she was a member of the Women’s Bowling League for a number of years. She continued her employment with Snak-Time, retiring in 1994. She married Anthony J. Mascaro in 1957 and together they raised their family until his passing in 2004. Shirley enjoyed reading, loved animals, especially dogs and spending time with her family. Shirley is survived by her daughter Gina Ann Mascaro of Wilbraham; son Anthony J. Mascaro, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Springfield; grandchildren Jes Mascaro and Joe Mascaro and his wife Tori; and sister Mary DeFalco. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Frank DeFalco. Shirley’s family will gather from 9-10AM on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church, 417 Boston Rd., Springfield. Friends are encouraged to meet directly at church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s name to the Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union St., Springfield, MA 01105.
