Sandra J. Grabierz

Sandra J. Grabierz, 74, passed away on May 1, 2022 at Parkway Pavilion in Enfield, CT. Born in Springfield MA on May 21, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Benedict and Josephine (Samko) Grabierz.
For many years, Sandy worked at and retired from Aetna in Hartford, CT. In her spare time, she was involved at the Town of Somers Senior Center and the East Longmeadow Senior Center. Sandy was also active with the Somers Cultural Commission and the Beautification Committee.
Sandy loved to travel and she enjoyed flowers, gardening and arts and crafts. She loved to sit out by her Koi pond and feed the multitude of birds that would come to visit her.
Sandy’s main love was for her kitties Jack and Callie who have been with her for the last 14 years. They provided great comfort for her as they cuddled in her lap when she sat in her chair and curled up with her when she went to bed. Jack and Callie are orphaned now and Sandy’s hope was that someone would adopt them so they could continue to share the love.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her cousin Joseph Borelli and his wife Christy of Ormond Beach, FL. Sandy also had many friends but she preferred that they remembered her from her years of good health rather than her declining years.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 10:30 AM in St. Michael’s Parish, Maple Street, East Longmeadow. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, South Deerfield, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sandra’s memory may be made to the East Longmeadow Senior Center, 328 N Main St, East Longmeadow, MA 01028 or to Friday’s Rescue Foundation, 270 Rogers Road, Groton, CT 06340.
