Ruth J Pessolano

Ruth J. (Vignone) Pessolano of East Longmeadow and a longtime resident of Springfield, passed away on July 26, 2019.
Ruth was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on March 3, 1929; the daughter of the late John S. and Mary H. (Laboffa) Vignone. She was educated in the Springfield schools and was employed as a cosmetician in Forbes & Wallace and G . Fox stores for many years; and a few years as a demo clerk for Big Y in her later years.
In addition, Ruth was a member of the Women’s Guild of Mount Carmel Church.

Ruth was married to the late Arthur E. Pessolano; and is survived by her daughter Gina M. Grassetti and her husband Fiore; her son Edward A. Pessolano and his wife Theresa (Dowd) Pessolano , all of Springfield; her two grandchildren Talya Pessolano and Dominic Pessolano, whom she adored with all her heart. She leaves several sisters, Virginia E. Flebotte and her husband Francis, Judi Ann Landers and husband Thomas, all of Wilbraham, Donna J. Schoolcraft and husband Robert, of Stafford Springs, Connecticut; and many wonderful nieces and nephews and her large extended family members and friends.
Ruth was predeceased by a brother and his wife, John and Valerie Vignone; her sisters, Rita and her husband Rocky Rothfus, Dorothy Molella, Barbara J. and her husband Ronald LaBonte.
Funeral services will begin at 8:45AM on Friday August 2, 2019 from the Forastiere Smith Family Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 123 William St., Springfield. Her burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery 1601 State St., Springfield.
