Rosemarie P. (Quinlan) Romito

East Longmeadow – Known for her wonderful personality, effortless ability to care for others and tenacity to work hard, Rosemarie P. (Quinlan) Romito will be greatly missed by her family, friends and colleagues. She sadly passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 after a brief and valiant battle with ALS. Rose will be remembered for her smile, ability to juggle all that came her way, her love for physical activity and her joy for music, especially playing the piano. Beginning to play piano at age four, Rose became a concert pianist and had a deep appreciation for Chopin. She was thoroughly enjoyed being active, always running, biking, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors. Her energy and hard work began in her early years at Rocky’s Ace Hardware and then Romito’s in East Longmeadow where she met her husband John. She continued her education, graduating from nursing school at the Elms and obtaining her Master’s Degree at Saint Joseph’s College in Maine, and became a Nurse Practitioner. Rose began her career in Mary Lyons Nursing Home, Holyoke Hospital and then more recently with Pioneer Valley Spine and Sports in West Springfield and held her office in East Longmeadow. Her achievements were great, as she had a passion for her field and embraced each opportunity.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she is the daughter of George Quinlan, Jr. and the late Jeannine (Morin) Quinlan. Rose called East Longmeadow her home. She met her loving husband John and they were married for 32 years. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 32 years, John W. Romito; five children, Jackie Romito-Carey and her husband Sean, Jeffrey Romito and his wife Lisa, Jason Carrington and his wife Isabel, Gina Viviano and her husband Ben, and Ralph Viviano; nine grandchildren: Joe (Hannah), Alexis, Sydney, Anthony, Olivia, Luca Matteo, Julianna, and Angelina; five siblings, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visiting hours on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 2:00-5:00pm at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation on 220 N. Main Street in East Longmeadow. The funeral will be Monday, December 5th beginning 8:30am at the funeral home, with a procession to St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow for a 10:00am Liturgy of Christian Burial.
