Ronald D. Binder

Ronald David Binder, age 78, passed away on May 30, 2021 in Agawam. Ron was born in Pensacola, FL, December 24, 1942 to the late Abraham and Freida Binder. He graduated in 1962 from Lafayette High School in Alabama. Ron was a submariner in the United States Navy for five years. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama; received an MBA from Western New England University; a Masters in Computer Science from Rensselaer in Hartford, CT; and was a CPA. He was formerly employed at Coopers and Lybrand in Springfield; Travelers Insurance in Hartford; and Baystate Health in Springfield, retiring in 2011. Ron leaves his beloved wife of 51 years, Lynn (Cruickshanks), and two sons Eric Binder and his wife Megan of Groton MA; and Dain Binder and his wife Amy of Granville, MA; four grandchildren Asher, Lyla, Owen, and Alex and step-grandsons Jack and Will. Ron is predeceased by his sister Rita Paskins. Ron was a loving and caring husband and father. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He also enjoyed traveling, reading and collecting books, collecting stamps, and took great pride in caring for his home and yard in Feeding Hills where he lived for 47 years. Calling hours for Ron will be held from 1-3PM on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main Street, Agawam, MA. Burial will be private.
