Roger L. Williams

EAST LONGMEADOW – Roger L. Williams, 77, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on October 13, 2019 and reunited with his wife of 53 years Patricia “Pat” A. (Fielding) Williams. He was born in Springfield, MA on October 20, 1941 to the late Barbara Williams.

Roger enjoyed the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox and also enjoyed spending time with his cat, Tabby and spending time on his tablet. Most of all, he loved his family.

Showing his remarkable strength, Roger had courageously battled and survived two bouts with cancer as well.

In addition to his mother and his beloved wife, Pat who passed away on May, 16, 2014, he was predeceased by his grandson Sergeant Mark R. Ecker II on July 10, 2009; his sister Rose and his sister-in-law Carol. To cherish his memory, he leaves his daughter Debra Ecker and her husband Mark of East Longmeadow; grandchildren Shannon Ryan and her husband Daniel and Kyle Ecker; great grandson Caleb Mark Ryan; brothers Bobby, Donald, and Warren and his wife Cindy; sisters Laura, Judy and Linda along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 4-7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 12:30 PM at the funeral home followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Parker St. Springfield.
