Obituary

Southwick- Roger J. Graham, 67, passed away at home with his wife Diane by his side on December 7, 2019 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on July 31, 1952 in Bristol England to the late Gordon and Dorothy (Honey) Graham. Roger immigrated to the United States with his family in 1966 and settled in the Westfield area. After graduating from Westfield Trade High School for auto mechanics he earned a post-grad certificate in electronics. Roger worked in various local businesses as an electrical/mechanical assembler. He loved trains and spent many years working on HO train layouts with his friend George, and attending the trains shows at the Big E. He loved being outdoors, spending many days hiking around Tekoa Mountain, 4-wheeling in his Jeep, and enjoying time with friends in the hut he built behind his house. Roger had a passion for working around the yard, creating many vegetable and flower gardens with Diane. He liked watching NASCAR and Netflix movies. Roger and Diane spent many vacations traveling to various US states. They especially enjoyed traveling with friends (like family) Donna and Ken Phillips. What his family and friends will miss most is his great sense of humor, and his way of always trying to keep people laughing. Roger will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 41 years Diane (Cieplinski) Graham of Southwick, his sister Carol Kotowicz and her husband Jim of Westfield, his brother-in-law Gary Hall of Westfield, his sister-in-law Doreen Patterson and her husband Bill of South Carolina, his brother-in-law Paul Cieplinski of Southwick, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sisters Sandra Hall and Maxine Burek, his brother-in-law Michael Burek, and his nephew Zachary Hall. The family would like to thank Dr. Philip Glynn, the staff at the infusion center at Sister Caritas Cancer Center, the many nurses at Mercy Medical Center, and the hospice caretakers from Trinity Health for all of their care and support during a difficult time. Friends and family are invited to gather Friday December 13, 2019 from 4-7pm in the Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick MA. A funeral service will be held Saturday December 14, 2019 at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Roger’s name to Sister Caritas Cancer Center, Attn: Mercy Oncology, 271 Carew St Springfield MA 01104.
