Robert Arthur Whitehead

Agawam- Robert “Robbie” Arthur Whitehead 62, devoted husband for 28 years to Sheryl (Freiheit) Whitehead passed away on July 22, 2022 following a long illness; in the care of his loving family.
Robert was born in Hartford, Connecticut on October 24, 1959 the son of Donald Whitehead and Joan (LaBranch) Whitehead. He was a resident of Agawam all of his life and attended Agawam schools. Prior to his retirement he worked 29 years for WestRock Co. in West Springfield, MA. Robert enjoyed spending time with his three Grandchildren who lovingly called him “Pops” and family dog Baxter. He enjoyed woodworking, time spent at the beaches of Key West, FL and Misquamicut, RI and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New York Giants fan.


In addition to his wife and his parents, Robert is survived by a daughter and her husband Ashley and Jared Hamre, and their children Jake, twins Brennan and Reese; three sisters, Deb Kulak, Maria Beach, Michelle Golec; father in law and mother in law Ted and Nancy Freiheit; he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
