Robert “Bob” J. Peters, age 81, of Feeding Hills, Massachusetts, and Conway, South Carolina passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, December 2, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in New York City, New York, the son of the late Walter and Margaret (Meehan) Peters, and was a graduate of Tech High School in Springfield, MA. He served in the United States Army in El Paso, TX as PFC assigned to the Military Police. He worked for several printing companies throughout his career with the majority of his time at Sterling Press Inc Printers in Westfield MA before moving to Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance Co in Windsor, CT where he later retired as a quality control supervisor in the printing department. He was a lifetime member of the BPOE Elks Lodge, #1481 in Westfield - West Springfield, MA for 51 years. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills. Robert is survived by his wife Joan Czysz and children: daughter Denise White and her husband Peter of Feeding Hills, MA, son Daniel Peters and his wife Karen of Myrtle Beach, SC. Melissa Lyons and her husband Ken of Gloucester VA and Kimberly Coons, and her husband Keith of East Windsor, CT. His grandchildren: Matthew White of Feeding Hills, MA, Patrick White of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ashley Connors and her husband Kyle, of Suffield, CT, Kristen and Connor Lyons of Gloucester, VA, and Haley Coons of East Windsor, CT. He is also survived by a brother, Joseph F. Peters, of North Granby, CT. Preceding him in death were his parents and his first wife Tammy (Parent) Peters. Calling hours for Bob will be held from 2-5PM on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam, MA. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 12th beginning at 8:45AM from the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10AM, at Sacred Heart Church, 1065 Springfield St., Agawam. Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
