Springfield – Rita T (Topolski) Madden, 90, died peacefully on August 2, 2022. 
Rita was born in Ranshaw, PA on July 18, 1932 to the late Stanley and Frances (Geslock) Topolski. She and her family moved to Springfield, Ma in 1941. 
Rita married John J Madden in 1951 and together they raised three children. Rita and John enjoyed traveling to many destinations and especially loved going on cruises. Rita moved to East Longmeadow in 2011 after the loss of her beloved husband. 
Rita was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was a woman of devout faith which provided her with a positive attitude no matter what hardships she encountered. 
She leaves her daughters Diane Mazza (David) and Susan Denoncourt (Robert) who were her caregivers in the last years of her life. Also, her daughter-in-law Gina Madden, her brother Robert Topolski (Judy), sister Joan Montano and sister-in-law Jean Topolski. Three granddaughters Charla Ohara (Jason), Angela Mazza (Robert Craig) and Gina Mazza. Two grandsons Anthony and Christopher Madden. Three great granddaughters Camryn, Bianca, and Dahlia. Three great grandsons Bryce, Brody and David Scott. Also, many nieces, nephews and cousins. 
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband John J Madden , her son David John Madden, her brother Donald Topolski and her Aunt Ann Richardson. 
Rita’s services will start on Friday August 12, 2022 with a calling hour from 9AM to 10AM in Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 N Main St., East Longmeadow. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 1900 Allen St., Springfield MA. Burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield.
