Steve Rawle

SPRINGFIELD – Richard Stephen Rawle, 66, passed away suddenly on June 22, 2017. Steve grew up in Springfield, where he lived all his life. He was born on July 20, 1950, the son of the late Richard Rawle, Jr. and Grace (Fortini) Rawle. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Nancy (Black) Rawle and devoted daughter Amy Lambert and her husband Christopher. He also leaves his 7 year old grandson, Caden, who called his Grandpa his “soul mate”; his sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Rodney Croteau of Oregon, nieces Yvette and Yvonne; several cousins and his mother-in-law Shirley Black. Steve retired from R.H. Scales Company in July 2016 and he happily filled his short retirement with woodworking, gardening, cooking, planning road trips, “puttering” and enjoying time with his family. Steve will always be remembered as a kind and gentle man who was loved by all. He enjoyed life and he never met a “beer he didn’t like”. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA.
