Obituary

Richard Henry Duquette, "Duke", passed away on November 11, 2023, in Springfield. He was born on August 9, 1942, in Springfield, Massachusetts. Richard proudly served in the US Air Force from 1960 to 1964.
Among his many accomplishments, Richard worked as a master engineer at Associated Building Wreckers, Inc., Safe Environment, Eastern Container, and American Linen. He was known for his expertise and dedication in his field.Richard had a passion for fishing, sportsmanship, woodworking, and boat repair with Father and Son’s Briere Boat Repair. He was known for his ability to fix anything, showcasing his remarkable skills. Richard also served as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret Duquette of 44 years, son, Michael Duquette, daughter Dawn McGrath, son, Scott Briere and wife Christine Briere, and son Ronald Briere. Richard is also survived by his grandchildren Jennifer Duquette, Jennifer McGrath, Catherine McGuirt and her husband Brian, grandsons Joshua Duquette, Matthew McGrath; and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Adrienne A. Tetreault, his father, Louis J. Duquette, his brother, Charles Duquette, his sister Jeanne Duquette, and his brother, Roland Duquette.

Calling hours will take place 11:30AM – 1:00PM on Monday November 20, 2023 at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow followed by committal services and military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam .
