Obituary

Richard L. Belliveau, the son of the late Leonard Belliveau and Mary Mallett ascended into the Journey of Everlasting Life on October 5th. Born September 12th 1939, he grew up on Somers, CT. Besides his wife, best friend and love of his life Janet (Barry) of fifty three years, he leaves behind a sister Joyce Carestia of Agawam along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Gloria Avery. He served his Country in the Army Reserves as a Spec 4 in the 301st Combat Engineers. A graduate of Howell Tech, he began his career in the Aircraft industry at Precision Speed in Wilson, CT for 22 years holding the position of Factory Manager. After the closing of Precision Speed, he became Quality Control Manager at Industrial Precision in Westfield for fifteen years. After retirement in 1995, for 22 years the Aircraft Industry was still in his blood and he returned to work for B&E Tool in Southwick, MA in the Quality Control Department until his final retirement in 2012 at the age of 72. Richard was a life member of the Elks. He spent many years vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC along with extensively traveling the United States. He enjoyed golfing and traveling. In his younger years, he loved skiing, motor cycling and sport card. In his later years his true passion was his home and especially his lawn. He will receive the Catholic rite of Christian burial on Saturday October 10th at the Colonia Forastiere Funeral Home located at 985 Main St Agawam with visiting hours from 1pm-2pm and a Funeral Home service beginning at 2pm. Committal services will follow at the Springfield St Cemetery in Feeding Hills. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital: Memorial Giving 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
