SPRINGFIELD – Regino Torres, 83, of Springfield, MA, passed away on October 17, 2021. He was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico on September 6, 1938 to Pablo Torres and Pilar Ramos. He had three brothers and four sisters, who all predeceased him. Regino moved to Hartford, CT in 1961 at the age of 23. He married in 1966 at the age of 28 and moved to Springfield, MA.

He leaves three children (from his former spouse Emilia Ramos), Reinaldo Torres, Roberto Torres (wife Judy) and Ana Jimenez (husband Frank). He also leaves many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, grand-nieces and great-nephews.

Regino worked in the Culbro tobacco fields in Connecticut for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing musical instruments, most notably the acoustic guitar, cuatro, and the piano. He was active in the Pentecostal Church. He loved the celebration of life. He will be missed by all who knew him in his church family as well.

Family and friends may gather on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 2 – 5 PM at Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 45 Locust Street, Springfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 11 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bay Street, Springfield.
