Obituary

Feeding Hills – Raymond L. Eggleston, 91, husband of the late Minerva J. (Enman) Eggleston, passed away on November 21, 2019.
Raymond retired from Union Carbide, in Suffield. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. Raymond created the Sunday morning slow pitch softball in the greater Springfield area. He was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Eva (Proulx) Eggleston; a brother, Robert ; 3 sisters, Madeline, Violet and Margaret; and a daughter in law , Rosemary Eggleston . He is survived by 4 sons, Gene, Thomas (Terry) , Gary (Charlene), and Robert (Diane) Eggleston; 3 daughters, Diana, Carol (Dean), Sandra (Steve); 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 4 brothers, Alfred, James, Donald and Roy; 4 sisters, Gracie, Martha, Barbara and Dorothy; several nieces, nephews , and cousins. Funeral services will be held in the Colonial Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 985 Main St. Agawam. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM to 1:00PM on Tuesday (Dec. 3, 2019) with a funeral home service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, in Agawam.
