Raffaele Larocca, 84, of Westbrook, CT, Ft. Meyers Beach, FL, and formerly of Feeding Hills, MA where he had raised his family for 30 years, passed away peacefully November 6, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Born July 12, 1936 in Castelmauro, Italy, he was a son to the late Luigi and Maria Assunta (Pietroniero) Larocca. He was employed with Sweet Life Inc. for 21 years retiring in 1996. Prior to Sweet Life Inc. he had worked for several years for Moore Dropped Forging Company. Raffaele was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and most importantly, spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 63 years Teresina (Trolio) Larocca; son Raffaele Antonio Larocca of Tolland, CT; daughters Donna Maria (Richard) Kana of Feeding Hills, MA and Teresa Emilia (Matthew) Alaimo of Westbrook, CT; grandchildren Nicholas, Christopher, Nicole, Shelby, Jared, Joey and Jimmy; brother Antonio Larocca and sister Teresa Lafratta, both of East Longmeadow. He was further survived by several nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Filomena Rosanna Larocca-Strobel; brother Nicola Larocca; and sister Lucia Polumba. Calling hours for Raffaele will be held from 4-7PM on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12th beginning at 9:45AM from the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 11:00AM, in Sacred Heart Church, Feeding Hills. Interment will follow in Springfield Street Cemetery, Feeding Hills. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Raffaele’s name to Smilow Cancer Hospital, Office of Development, Yale New Haven Hospital – Closer to Free Fund, PO Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508-9979. Raffaele received several blood transfusions and the American Red Cross is always looking for blood donors.
