Phyllis A. Kerr

Phyllis A. Kerr, 87, passed away on May 12, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Boston, MA on October 24, 1932, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Thorpe) Gibbons. As an accomplished pianist, she was best known for her performance in New York City at the age of 15. She then attended Suffolk Law School for 2 years. During the holidays and special occasions, Phyllis enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family. She also loved color coordinating outfits with her husband, Frederick and would always wear a flower or bow in her hair. She was the kindest person and would give you the shirt off her back if she thought you were cold. She was a sweet, generous and beautiful woman who thought it was better to give than to receive. She loved roses and her morning cup of tea. When you think of love, you think of her. We will forever keep her in our hearts and remember her as the most loving wife and devoted mother. Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her daughter Renee A. Kerr who passed away in March, 2011. To cherish her memory, she leaves her loving husband Frederick E. Kerr of Springfield; her children Deborah Kelly, Christopher Kerr and his wife Colleen and David Kerr all of Springfield; her grandchildren Maria Hagopian and her husband Jonathan, Lanise Bradley, Kayla Kerr and Erin Moody as well as her great grandchild Sophia Hagopian. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 22, 2020 from 10 AM – 12 Noon at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow.
