Phyllis Ann Gurney

Springfield- Phyllis Ann (Mogue) Gurney, 77, beloved wife for 59 years to William H. Gurney Sr., passed away peacefully, on July 11, 2018. A lifetime resident of Springfield, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Raymond and Marjorie (Queior) Mogue. She was a graduate of the High School of Commerce. Phyllis was employed by John H. Breck Shampoo for many years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing BINGO with her friends, and watching old movies. Her greatest joy in life was her devotion to her family. She will be missed by her loving children, William Gurney Jr., Tracy Savoie (Craig), Diane Springer, Stephen Gurney; and sister, Jacqueline Reopel. Phyllis was the cherished grandmother of 13 grandchildren and their spouses: Michelle Noonan (Tim), Joseph Gurney (Alyssa), Tim Gurney (Kim), Shane Springer, Courtney Normand (Andrew), Stephanie Gurney, Dillon Springer, Michael Savoie, Kaitlin Gurney, Juliana Gonzalez, Victoria Springer, Mia and Aidan Nicely-Gurney; and a very special great grandmother of 7 great grandchildren. The family will gather from 10:00AM – 12:00 Noon on Saturday (July 21, 2018) and receive friends in the Forastiere Smith Family Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. A Memorial Service will follow, in the funeral home, at 12:00 Noon.
