Phyllis E. Bilton

Phyllis E. (Giannetti) Bilton, 83, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 with family by her side. Born in Springfield, she was youngest of ten children of the late Giusseppi and Giovina Giannetti. Phyllis attended Springfield schools and graduated from the High School of Commerce. She worked as a territory representative for Hallmark Cards for 25 years before retiring in 2002. Bored with retirement she began a fun, new career working at Dunkin Donuts on the Springfield College Campus. She developed a special relationship with the students. Always busy, Phyllis could be found reading a book, shoveling snow, raking leaves or having lunch with her sisters or friends.

She leaves behind her son Richard and his wife Melanie of Umatilla, FL, and her daughter Lee Anne Mailhot and her husband John of Somers, CT. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, Elizabeth and James Bilton and Jamie and Christopher Mailhot. She also leaves her lunch buddies Bette and Rosie, furry friends Jake and Sassy, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Phyllis was predeceased by her nine brothers and sisters: Nicholas, Leonard, Ralph, and Carmino Giannetti, Michelina Toro, Ann Salemi, Mary Erickson, Angie Hokanson, and Josephine Giannetti.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 8:30-10:00am at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation on 220 N. Main Street in East Longmeadow, followed by an 11:00am funeral mass in St. Patrick’s Church in Springfield, and burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield.
