Philip L. DeAngelis

Springfield – Philip Leonard DeAngelis, 90, passed away on August 5, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Springfield, the only child of the late, Casimiro and Lucy (Pendola) DeAngelis on August 31, 1926. He was a 1944 graduate of Springfield Technical High School. Phil was a skilled draftsman for several local companies including Monsanto, Spalding, and American Bosch for many years. Phil loved music and enjoyed playing the banjo. He was a generous, caring man who loved his family and will be dearly missed. Phil leaves his wife Anna DeAngelis; his children, Philip E. DeAngelis of West Springfield, and Michelle DeAngelis of West Brookfield; 2 grandchildren, Jayden and Isabella; and his former wife, Verna DeAngelis. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 14th at 10AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 123 William St., Springfield followed by interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Philip’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
