Paul W. Siddell

Paul “The Barber” Siddell, 78, has been reunited with his son, Bryan on December 31, 2019. Born November 20, 1941 in Springfield, MA, he was a son to the late George and Alice (Schnetzer) Siddell. He took great pride in being a barber in Springfield for 48 years. Paul was an avid Boston sports fan who enjoyed a good game at Fenway Park watching his beloved Red Sox. He loved traveling to Florida and to the Cape where he enjoyed attending the Cape Cod League baseball games and going out to eat. He always looked forward to having breakfast at Reid’s with his friends. Paul’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends who will miss him dearly. He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 51 years, Gretchen (Flynt) Siddell; his wonderful daughter Lynn Santos and son-in-law Gil, loving grandchildren Zackary and Sara, all of Wilbraham; sister Judy (Walter) Bosworth; brothers John, David (Ellen), Marty (Vivian) and Donald (Diane) Siddell. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Nan McLean; brother-in-law Rufus J. (Annette) Flynt; and several nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Bryan Paul Siddell; sister-in-law Mary (Brunton) Siddell; niece Karen Siddell; and father and mother-in-law Rufus and Dorothy (Belisle) Flynt. Paul’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Baystate Primary Care in Monson and everyone on the 2nd floor and lab at Baystate Wing Hospital. Calling hours for Paul will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 4-7PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4th beginning at 8:45AM at the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10AM, in St. Mary’s Church, Hampden. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hampden following the service.
