Noreen M. Magee

East Longmeadow – Noreen Mary (O’Melia) Magee, 85, passed away Saturday March 10th 2018 at Wingate of East Longmeadow. Born in Middleborough, MA, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Bernier) O’Melia. She graduated from Middleboro High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Our Lady of the Elms College. Noreen loved her home and her family and was a longtime communicant of St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow. Some of her greatest pleasures were teaching the little ones at the Glickman School in Springfield and gardening with her good friend and neighbor. She is survived by her husband, Gerard Magee of East Longmeadow and her son, Christopher Magee of Martha’s Vineyard. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Claire Finn and Dr. Ronald Finn. She also leaves 16 nieces and nephews from the Magee, Finn, and Claughorty Families. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 9-10 AM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Michael’s Church, East Longmeadow. Burial will take place at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery following the Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Sisters of St. Joseph 577 Carew St, Springfield, MA 01104 or to St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple St, East Longmeadow MA 01028.
