Obituary

Nancy Bistran, 64, of Longmeadow, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 8, 1955 to Walter and Helen (Subotin) Lawrenchuk of Agawam, MA, she was a 1973 graduate of Agawam High School, a 1977 graduate of Western New England University and a 1981 graduate of Western New England University Law School. After practicing law, she transitioned into a selfless stay-at-home mom to her three children and was later a substitute teacher in the Longmeadow Public Schools.
Nancy adored her family. In earlier years, she was a dedicated Girl Scout/ Cub Scout leader, PTO mom, and the best birthday party planner around. She was an avid reader who enjoyed a good book and enjoyed quality family time on her two favorite beaches, York Beach, ME and Vero Beach, FL. She was a constant ray of sunshine in her husband and three children’s lives, always a sounding board for advice or ready to compete in an exhilarating Bistran Family Board Game Night and was fully dedicated to her annual Christmas Eve traditions.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 40 years, Richard; their three adoring children, Ashley Marvel and her husband James of Longmeadow MA, Alex Bistran and his wife Mandi of Wilmington MA and Adam Bistran and Katlyn Kelliher of Enfield CT; her cherished grandchildren Charlie Marvel and Hadley Bistran; her mother Helen Lawrenchuk of Agawam; her brother Nick Lawrenchuk and his wife Deborah of South Carolina; her nephew Paul Lawrenchuk of South Carolina; her brother-in-law Stephen Bistran of Woodbury CT and many more cousins and friends that she thought so fondly of. She was predeceased by her father, Walter in 1984.
Due to the current health climate and safety of others there will be a small, private, immediate family only service for Nancy on Friday, March 20th. There will be a celebration of life at a later date for all friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nancy’s name to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.forastiere.com
