January 16, 1926 ~ March 16, 2018 (age 92) 92 Years Old
FEEDING HILLS – Moses Cofer, 92, passed away on March 16, 2018 at the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke. Born in Norfolk, VA on January 16, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Georgia (DuBois) Cofer. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed at Monsanto Chemical Co. as an electrician for 32 years after receiving his certification from Springfield Technical Community College. Moses was a member of Bethany Assembly of God in Agawam for over 20 years. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Anita Cofer; former spouse Jane Cofer; step-son Victor Jones; step-daughters Elfreda Willis and Karen Wilbon and his sister Willie Mae Boone. To cherish his memory, he leaves his sons Robert Cofer and his wife Vanessa and John Cofer all of Springfield; his close friend Lelia Wilson; grandchildren Kerri, Darius and Gianni Cofer and Ashley Rivera as well as 3 great grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Bethany Assembly of God 580 Main Street, Agawam, MA. Calling hour is from 10-11 AM with funeral service immediately following. Committal services and military honors will be at Hillcrest Park Cemetery Mausoleum, Parker Street, Springfield. Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke.
