SPRINGFIELD- Miguela “Angie” Florian, 82, passed away on May 16, 2023 at Life Care of Wilbraham. Born in Aiea, Hawaii, Angie was the daughter of the late Pausto and Rosenda (Banagaso) Yangoren. Angie was a graduate of Waipahu High School in Hawaii. She resided in Springfield for most of her life with her late husband, Raymond V. Florian and their two children, Pamela Florian of Amesbury, MA and Kenton Florian of Dalton, MA. Angie’s career was in banking; she was an assistant manager at Bay Bank Valley and also worked at Valley Bank for many years. Music was her ministry – she shared her love of singing with others and was part of many singing groups: Sweet Adelines, Dan Kane Singers, and Golden Blue Ribbon Singers. She was a former soloist for many area churches. She was requested by many families for weddings and funeral masses. Angie was the music director at St. Paul’s Church with Fr. Ha Dang. Before that, she was a parishioner and choir director for many years at St. Catherine of Siena. She was proud of her Hawaiian heritage and she loved to share it through Hawaiian songs and hula dancing for years. Angie loved flowers and will be remembered as a social butterfly with an engaging personality. One of her proudest moments was when she was crowned Mrs. Massachusetts Senior America in 2001-2002. In addition to her daughter and son, she leaves a granddaughter, Lily Florian, two sisters, Remegia Holcombe and Martina Peru, and her sister-in-law, Juliette Florian.
