Michelle Lee Ackerman

Michelle Lee (Favreau) Ackerman, 49, passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2017; after being stricken ill at home. Michelle was the devoted wife of 25 years to Jeffrey C. Ackerman. Born in Springfield on February 18, 1968 she was educated and graduated from Agawam High School and attended The College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. She was a resident of Southwick for the past 20 years; having previously lived in South Carolina where she met Jeffrey. Together they have been involved in the ownership of Sodom Campground, Southwick for over 20 years. Michelle loved the beach, yoga, her dogs, and the day to day operations of the campground meeting new people who would come and visit yearly. Michelle was Past President of the Massachusetts Association of Campground Owners (MACO) and Northeast Campground Owners Association. She was an active member of the Southwick community and served on several town committees. She will be deeply missed by her husband Jeff; her three sons, Jeremy, Jacob and James; her parents, George Favreau and his wife Colleen, of Westfield, Janice (Barnard) Favreau LaFrance of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida; a brother, Steven Favreau and his wife Wendy, of Fort Mill, South Carolina; a sister, Denise Favreau-Lewis and her husband Steven Lewis Jr. of Winnetka, Illinois. Michelle also leaves aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. The family will gather to celebrate Michelle’s life from 2:00PM – 4:00 PM on Sunday January 7, 2018 In the Southwick Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick. A Life Celebration ceremony will follow at 4:00 PM. Please bring a favorite memory of Michelle to share with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southwick Ambulance Fund, 15 Depot Street, Southwick, MA 01077.
