Obituary

SPRINGFIELD- Michael “Chuck” J. Tirozzi, 60, passed away surrounded by his loving family at Baystate Medical Center on September 20, 2019. He was born in Springfield, MA on July 29, 1959 to the late Michele and Margaret (Daponte) Tirozzi. From a young age he had an affinity for cooking and baking and shared his talents working for Gus & Paul’s, Modern Bakery, Gemini Restaurant, and later opened Tirozzi’s Bakery as well as Tirozzi’s and Tirozzi’s II Restaurant. He also worked as a cook for the Department of Youth Services for 20 years, as well as working for TJ Wine & Spirits and The Puppy Place. He was an avid Los Angeles Rams and Boston Red Sox Fan, and enjoyed time spent at the casino and playing bingo. He adored his family and nothing was more important to him than spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. To cherish his memory he leaves his beloved wife Debra (Vevier) Tirozzi of Springfield, MA; brother Anthony Tirozzi and his wife Nancy of Granby, MA; sisters Josephine Hastings and her husband David of Springfield, MA, and Teresa Cote and her husband Steven of Springfield, MA; several much-loved nieces and nephews, and his faithful companions Peanut, Shaggy, Bentley, and Madison. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, September 25 from 4PM-8PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6 Waltham, MA 02451.
