Matthew C Goodchild

SPRINGFIELD- Matthew C. Goodchild, 65, beloved husband of Pauline (Wakem) Goodchild, passed away on June 17, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Springfield, a son of Kent Goodchild and the late Christine (Flechsig) Goodchild. Matthew was a loyal employee for the last ten years at 90 Meat Outlet in Springfield. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by a brother, Kent “Alan “Goodchild. In addition to his wife and father, Matthew is survived by his 3 children, Paul Goodchild, PHD and his wife Wendi, Jennifer Goodchild, Matthew Goodchild and his wife Jenny; his siblings, Marshall Goodchild and partner Joanne Zhe, Christine Ingalls and her husband Keith; Timothy Goodchild and his wife Susan; a sister in law Kathy Goodchild; nine grandchildren, Rose, Lynn, Noah, Luke, Lily, Aubrey, Elliette, Jessica, Justin; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like you to share in a Life Celebration from 3:00 PM – 7:00PM on Friday (June 21, 2019) in the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. In lieu of flowers the family would like you to honor Matthew’s memory with a donation to Sister Caritas Cancer Center, 271 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
