Mary Rose Sarage

Longmeadow- Mary Rose (Braccialarghe) Sarage 96, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2020; surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of 51 years to the late Luciano “Lou” Sarage who predeceased her on May 15, 1999.
Born in Springfield, a daughter of the late Vincent and Anna (Cardinale) Braccialarghe; she lived most of her life in Springfield; prior to moving to Longmeadow. Mary was a 1942 graduate of Commerce High School. She was also a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. In addition to her parents and husband Mary was predeceased by her brothers, Pat and Domenick Braccialarghe; and her sisters Theresa and Carmella Braccialarghe. Mary is survived by her two sons, Louis J. Sarage (Eva) of Longmeadow, Michael J. Sarage (Jo-Ellen) of Springfield; a daughter, Janice Calcasola(Robert) of Longmeadow; five grandchildren, Dr. Anthony Sarage (Dawn), Joseph Sarage (Allison), Hailey Gowan (Mark), Michael Sarage II, Lisa Calcasola; 2 great grandchildren, Lea Sarage and Luke Sarage; along with nieces and nephews. A calling hour from 9:00AM-10:00AM will take place on Tuesday (October 13, 2020) in the Forastiere Smith Family Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow followed by a funeral home service at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Rd., Springfield. Masks and social distancing must be observed. The family wishes to thank the staff of Chestnut Hill of East Longmeadow (formerly Wingate of East Longmeadow) especially the Rockwell Wing for their compassion and loving care they gave Mary over the last seven years.
