Mary Kennan McCormick

Mary Kennan McCormick (Nee Mary Ellen Kennan) was called home to the Lord on June 18, 2019. She passed away at Mercy Hospital in Springfield Massachusetts. She slipped away peacefully holding the hand of her loving and devoted husband of 42 years, Mark McCormick of Feeding Hills, MA. She is the daughter of Mary Kennan of Hampton, CT. She has five siblings; Jon Kennan and his wife Roseann of Hampton, CT, Joy Hourihan and her husband Gordon of Flanders,NJ, Rob Kennan and his wife Kathleen of Wilmington, DE, Joanna Amill of Elyria, OH and Grace Couchon of Jacksonville, FL. She has two children Jeffrey McCormick and his wife Karen of Chicopee, MA and Megan Audet and her husband Jason of Agawam, MA. She has 1 stepdaughter Jennifer Chapman and her husband Rob of Highland Park, IL. She was predeceased by her father Dana Kennan of Hampton, CT. It was obvious to anyone who met her she had 2 passions in this world, Bon Jovi and more importantly her grandkids. She is survived by 12 grandchildren. Sean McCormick, Cale Audet, Erin McCormick, Breckin Audet, Emily Traynor, Kaitlynn McCormick, Brady McCormick, Addison Audet, Graham Chapman, Ryan McCormick, Lindsey Burroughs, and Ryder Audet. Mary was born on November 7, 1952 in Hartford, CT to Dana and Mary Kennan. She graduated from Parish Hill High School in 1970 in Chaplin, CT. She married Mark McCormick, the love of her life in 1977. Her capacity for love knew no boundaries and her smile was so infectious that you couldn’t help but smile with her. She was an avid reader. She has seen Bon Jovi in concert over 27 times with her concert buddy Kim and never tired of it. She loved the beach, specifically the beaches of Cape Cod. She was never happier than when spending time with her grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with her husband, Mark. Her calling hours will be held at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001 from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, June 28, 2019. There will be a memorial service on June 29th at 11am held at the Agawam Congregational Church, 745 Main St., Agawam, MA. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Agawam Congregational Church in memory of Mary McCormick.
