EAST LONGMEADOW – Mary (Cullinane) Dooley, 99, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on April 24, 2019. Born in Springfield, MA on August 3, 1919 to the late John J. and Delia (McDonough) Cullinane, she was raised in the Hungry Hill Section along with her four brothers and two sisters. Mary was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield. She was a thirty year employee of the former Springfield Institution for Savings Bank. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband John M. Dooley in 1984, her son-in-law John Slasinski in 2011 and all her siblings. To cherish her memory, Mary leaves her daughters Jean Beusee and her husband Roy of West Springfield, Marilyn Berrett of Longmeadow and Carol Slasinski of East Longmeadow; grandchildren Michele Hoey (Glenn), Roy Beusee (Laurie Hines), Julie Berrett-Abebe (Bisrat), Laurie Tillberry (Aaron) and Andrew Slasinski; nine great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 5 – 7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 beginning at 9:15 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow St. Longmeadow. Burial will be in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, 420 Kings Hwy, West Springfield.
