Martha M. Amedeo

Springfield- Martha M. (DiMichele) Amedeo, 90, passed away at home with family by her side on November 4, 2020. Martha was born in Springfield MA on February 22, 1930 to the late Rocco and Frances (Montefusco) DiMichele. After graduating High School, Martha went on to be a seamstress and upholsterer for a furniture company. She married her love, Joseph Amedeo in April 1952, and together they raised two beautiful children. Joseph predeceased her in 2006. Martha was a very talented seamstress, and she made dresses and communion dresses for all the girls in the family. After Joe’s retirement, they moved to Florida together to enjoy time together. There Martha was a volunteer at the DeLand Library, she worked as a lectern and with the CCD of St. Peters Catholic Church, and she was on the Committee of their Oktoberfest. She always made time for family, cooking meals, and baking cookies, and hosting Christmas Eve. She made sure there was always love in her family. She will be deeply missed by her adoring children Joseph D. Amedeo and his wife Karen of Springfield MA, and Christina M. Cote and her husband Norman of Southwick, and her granddaughter Kelsey Amedeo Leerkes and her husband Bernie. Funeral Services are entrusted to Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, and will be held privately by the family.
