Obituary

Marilyn Joyce Renius (Yorseck), 92, passed away Saturday February 13, 2021. Born August 18, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter to Adolph and Eva (Symancyk) Yorseck, she was a long time resident of Grosse Pointe, Michigan before moving bank to her New England roots in 1987. She was the wife of 59 years to Robert Renius who preceded her in death. She loved working in the fashion merchandising world and running the business, but left it behind to raise her family. Marilyn, often called the best cook in the world, was well known for her outstanding meals, which should be better classified as enormous feasts, Sunday family dinners, impeccable table settings, and delectable desserts. She had an extraordinary love for family and they meant the world to her. She leaves behind two children, Scott R. Renius and his wife Marla of Southwick, MA, and Wendy J Adams and her husband Arthur “Ace” of Longmeadow, MA, six grandchildren, Bradley, Brent, Amber, Aaron, Kyle, and Abigail, five great grandchildren, Lily, Addie, Francesca, Hayden, Lucas, and her sister Shirley Jenzen of Harper Woods, Michigan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Robert, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Scott Renius Jr. March 17, 1987. All services as well as burial are private. The Forastiere Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children in Springfield or the Ronald McDonald House.
