Marie L. Spedero

Springfield – Marie L. Spedero, AKA “Tootsie,” died Tuesday at Baystate Medical Center. Marie was born in Springfield, MA and had been residing in East Longmeadow, MA. Marie spent the entirety of her life in the Greater Springfield area. A graduate of Commerce, HS in Springfield, Ma, Marie held executive secretarial positions at Leader Engineering, General Electric and Western MA Electric. Marie was also a past president of the Mt. Carmel Women’s Guild and the Golden Age Club. She volunteered countless hours for these organizations. Marie also volunteered for the Chenile Fund and was a “Candy Striper” with the American Red Cross. Marie’s hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading, and playing Hawaiian Guitar with the Pizzatola Orchestra. What Marie loved most, was spending time with her nieces nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Marie leaves her brother Paul Spedero and his wife Louise Spedero of East Longmeadow; her niece Katie Mard and her husband Jeff Mard of Longmeadow; her nephew Admiral Paul Spedero and wife Nikki Spedero of Virginia Beach, VA; her nephew Peter Spedero and wife Krista Spedero of Ludlow, MA. Marie also leaves two great nieces and three great nephews. Marie was predeceased by her father Ernest Spedero and her mother Mary Spedero of Springfield. Due to the COVID pandemic and with the safety of all in mind, a private service will be held for immediate family at this time. A celebration of Marie’s life will be held at a future date, when COVID restrictions are less prohibitive.
