Marianne (Santaniello) Lemoine, 67, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, Noni, and friend passed away suddenly on Friday, May 27, 2022. Marianne was born and raised in the South End of Springfield, MA. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and furthered her studies at STCC, where she studied Medical Assisting. She worked for various health organizations, most recently as an Activities Assistant at Heritage Hall in Agawam. She loved interacting and caring for each resident and her kind-hearted nature led her to create bonds and friendships with each and every one. Her faith was a pillar in her life and she was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
She leaves her most cherished family, her beloved husband of thirty-eight years William “Billy” Lemoine, her son Christopher “C.J.” Lemoine and his wife Jenna, her most precious grandchildren Mila Rose and Emerson Jade, her sisters Margie Dominick and her husband Ralph, Romilda Gelinas, and Susan Sciro and her husband Michael, her sister-in-law Karen Drane and her husband Robert, her nieces and nephews Nicole Rizen and her husband Jason, Kara Walsh and her husband Ryan, John Dominick, Peter Gelinas and his wife Candace, Joseph Sciro and Michael-Thomas Sciro, Chris Drane, her great nieces and nephew Madison and Hunter Rizen, Josie and Melody Walsh, and Penelope Rae Gelinas, her aunt Barbara Santaniello, and many cousins, extended family and countless amazing friends.
Marianne was a compassionate, loving, devoted and sparkling lady, who had a heart too big to fill. She was a dedicated mother to her dearest son, C.J., first and foremost. Her most prized role was being a Noni to her two treasured granddaughters and she embraced every moment with them, spoiling them with love (and presents!) She was known for sending greeting cards on special occasions, or even on behalf of her special granddog, Henry. She was always calling everyone to check in, to hear about your latest life adventures, or to get the good scoop. She deeply cared for everyone in her life. She was an avid shopper, always on the hunt to score the best deals to share with her loved ones. She was never too far from the beach in her flip-flops, and she loved going with her clan to Westerly, Cape Cod, West Palm Beach, and most of all on her annual family trip with all of her “favorites” to the Juliana in Lake George. She loved her Dunkin’ coffee, her General Hospital, and she was a bright star in the lives of everyone she touched. She will be deeply missed.
She is predeceased by her parents Peter and Felicia (Carrieri) Santaniello, her mother-in-law and father-in-law William and Mary Lemoine, her “Cabana Boy” and brother-in-law Ray Gelinas, her brother-in-law Chris Drane, and many cherished aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 4-8pm at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow, MA. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 beginning at 8:45am at the funeral home. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, both in Springfield.
