East Longmeadow - Luigi Capaccio, 73, peacefully ascended into the Journey of Everlasting Life on Sunday, May 27, 2018. Born on May 10, 1945 in Bracigliano, Salerno, Italy, he was the son of late Guiseppe and Emilia (Amabile) Capaccio. He immigrated to Springfield in 1968 with the goal of providing a better life for his family. He accomplished his goal with starting his own family business which today still continues. He was dearly loved, had a generous heart and contagious smile. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his sister Annunziata Cardaropoli and her husband Guiseppe Cardaropoli, his sister Anna LoChiatto and her husband Tommaso LoChiatto and his nephew Umberto LoChiatto. Luigi is survived by his wife, Immacolata (Giordano) Capaccio, and sons Guiseppe, Gennaro, Frank and his wife Erica Capaccio; daughter Emilia Capaccio and her husband Nicholas Granell; 4 grandchildren Frankie, Anthony, Carly Capaccio and Niko Granell; nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 1st beginning at 10:15AM from Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30AM in St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow.
