Lois M. Ritchie

Lois Ann (Macdonald) Ritchie, 72, of Springfield (Longmeadow) passed peacefully on July 28, 2018 surrounded by her family. Born in Springfield, she attended Technical High School, Hartford Hospital School of Radiology and Holyoke Community College. She was employed as a Radiology Technician at Harford Hospital, Mercy Hospital (Springfield), Baystate Health System also in Springfield. At various times she also worked for Lifeline Systems, Springfield Radiology and Imaging and after her retirement was employed as an X-Ray Tech for S.V. Pain Management in East Longmeadow, MA. Lois had attended First Church of Christ UCC and Longmeadow Congregational Church (free Congregational) and as well as being involved in church activities, she was active with the CT Fellowship of Congregational Christion Churches as a church representative. Lois was a voracious reader and a member of Clan Donald. She and Wendell were also involved with Clan Mackintosh of North America as a Convener at various Scottish Festivals throughout New England. She will be reunited for eternity with her parents Finley Stuart and Edith (Crawford) Macdonald and her siblings Jeanne Foote of Connecticut and Richard S. Macdonald of Colorado. She leaves her husband of 50 years Wendell (Web) Ritchie, a son Paul and his wife Michelle of Ludlow, MA, a daughter Sharon C. of Springfield MA. She also leaves her brother-in-law David Ritchie and his companion Linda Krause of Ludlow, MA, a sister- in-law Rosemary Macdonald of Fort Collins, CO as well as many nieces and nephews in Connecticut, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Granby MA and South Carolina. A gathering of family and friends for Lois will be held from 1-3pm on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA with a memorial service beginning at 3:00pm. A private burial will be held at the convenience of her family.
