Lois A. Craig

Agawam – Lois A. (MaLou) Craig died June 2, 2019 at Baystate Medical in Springfield. She was born August 16, 1932 in Springfield, MA to the late Elery Gibson and Lillian (Rasmussen) Duffy. Lois graduated Commence High School in 1950 and married her sweetheart Robert. She was a true military wife and stayed home caring for her seven children, where there was always room for one more. She was a mother to everyone and her big heart and caring nature for family, friends and animals alike will be never forgotten. Lois was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend. She was loved greatly by her whole family (clan) and will be forever missed. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years Robert L. Craig, and her son Richard R. Craig. She leaves behind her daughters Cynthia Briggs and her husband Robert of Agawam, Carolyn Meadows of Frederica, DE, Rebecca Remington and her husband Guy of Feeding Hills, Debra Chechile and her husband Ronald of Agawam, and Roberta Forques and significant partner William; her son Christopher Craig and his wife Michelle of Agawam; her sister-in-law Janet Gibson; her brother-in-law Charles Dorow and his wife Joan; 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many cousins and extended family. Family and friends are invited to gather Thursday June 6, 2019 for calling hours 4-7pm in the Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main Street, Agawam, MA. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Friday June 7, 2019 at 11:45am. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Lois’ name to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
