Obituary

Southwick - Leonard John Grodzicki, 79, a resident here for over 40 years, passed away on September 5, 2018; surrounded by his loving family. Lenny was born in Meriden, CT on August 30th, 1939, a son of the late Karol and Stella (Arabasz) Grodzicki. He was also predeceased by his only sibling, Richard Grodzicki.
Lenny was a 1957 graduate of Meriden High school, and later served his country, receiving an honorable discharge in 1963 from the United States Air Force. Lenny was employed by United Airlines for 44 years in Customer Service, working at both Los Angeles International Airport and then Bradley International Airport prior to his retirement in 2001.
Lenny enjoyed spending summers boating and fishing on Big Pond in Otis, MA with family and friends. He also cherished his yearly hunting trips to northern VT with his brothers-in-law, and ski trips to Utah with his wife and kids. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2003, he discovered he was about to become a grandfather for the first time. This gave him the will to fight another 15 years.
Lenny will forever be remembered for his easy going nature, generosity, and willingness to help anyone he could. He always had a smile on his face, and always put others before himself.
Lenny leaves his devoted wife of 49 years, Heather (Campbell) Grodzicki; his two beloved sons, Eric Grodzicki and his wife Tara, of Medfield, Massachusetts; Mark Grodzicki and his wife Mary, of West Springfield; As well as 2 cherished grandchildren, Evan and Travis. He also leaves many friends and extended family members. Calling Hours will be from 3:00pm - 6:00pm on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 at the Southwick Forastiere Family Funeral Home , 624 College Highway, Southwick.
A funeral home service will take place at 12:30pm on Monday, September 24th, 2018, Burial with military honors, will follow in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam.
