Leland E. Streeter 96, of Southwick passed away Wednesday February 23, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Born September 21, 1925 he was originally from Cummington, MA and was the son of the late Guy B. and Edna M. (Estes) Streeter. He graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1943 and also attended Western New England College. He served in WWII in New Guinea and the Philippines and resided in Southwick, MA for 70 years. Mr. Streeter was an avid cyclist who rode 5,000 miles a year after retiring from Hamilton Standard where he worked for 35 years. He was also an enthusiastic motorcyclist and he and his wife traveled cross country in their RV. He also had several other hobbies including collecting clocks, and collecting ceramic turtles, and daily exercising in his gym. He was generous with his time and appeared at hundreds of retirement events as the host. He was well respected by colleagues, friends and family, and willing to help anyone who needed assistance and would ask nothing in return. Mr. Streeter was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Shirley B. Streeter. He leaves behind a son Eric L. Streeter, and wife Lauren C. Streeter of Reading, MA; a daughter Cheryl S. Cutler and husband William P. Cutler of Grafton, MA; a sister Kathryn Gero of Windsor, MA; and a brother Vernon H. Streeter of Hinsdale, MA; four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth B. Streeter and Edward B. Streeter of Dalton, MA. Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
